Unheard Screams

Screams in the night that go unheard by the masses

Victimized by the harshness of pain's unending delight as you suffer

Not one really hears the cries of madness and torment from within you

Living the harshness of being surrounded, but walking the road alone

Why does nobody hear

Echoes in the madness all that can be heard

Still alone with all those that surround

Sorrow brimming with the desire to escape

Screaming no into the heavens from within the soul

Why does nobody see it about to erupt

Howls in the pit heard like whispers from a sweet lover in the ear

Screams of the dammed souls from long past times

Knowing that the road is leading into the fires

Desperately wishing for forgiveness to come

It's all so loud

The shrieks do not stop, even in the density of the gang

Growing like a racing beat of a drum pounding through the chest

There is no respite or solace from what's surging toward oblivion

No frantic looks for a hand out of the hole to find help

Screaming louder at oneself

It was the burden of such weighted knowledge that fractured the mind

Screams of a child taken against its will and tortured as it waits for the end

The anticipation of walking the longest road to the executioner's blade

Helplessly moving through the growth of hopelessness, and its grasping hands

The screams turn to sobs as nobody hears it; hope finally dies
