Unhealthy attachments
I’ve had them one, twice, probably more than thrice.
Only then do you realize,
Not solely the things about yourself,
But in recognizing the signs
Of an unhealthy attachment.
You learn to set boundaries,
And to stop explaining,
When you’ve constantly already said enough.
You have said your part,
Now it’s up to them to learn theirs.
You have learned to control yourself,
From not becoming too involved in their lives,
Or too curious or interested,
Or worse, dragged into their mess,
Because of the greed of attention,
If it has become excessive,
Will hurt more than anything once it is gone,
Or will suck the life out of you,
If you become a co-dependent.
Know your limits,
And know theirs.

I write poetry and blogs about my curiosities in life. Why do we stress? We do we settle for less? Whether it's heartbreak, inspirational writings, I'll just write away~
