Unfurl

Truth

By Gregory AndersonPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

The breeze is the reason

That the flag unfurls

Gentle souls in a violent world

Claim your peace like the meek

Seeking with all to find their worth

So it’s said they shall inherit the earth

Just as a new child flails at birth

The multitude reaches to claim dirt

Gentle just like a flowing stream

Peace gives birth to flowering dreams

The ancient spoken framed by words

Simply the truest meaning is unheard

Strive to connive sharp as knives

Lives torn apart and masked by lies

Just as a tapestry threads are weaved

Humanity bares the weight and grieves

Loves power can bring us to our knees

The greatest gift is not in material things

It’s that transformation that hope brings

There is still love buried within this world

Like a curled flag we must let it unfurl
