Unfiltered
The rare, unadulterated view of life, at its essence.
I am not great at what I do.
Not bad, mind you, just
not great.
Somewhere an inch or two—
above or below—average
sounds right.
Though I was “tall for my age”
as a child, I seem to have
evened out.
Yes, I find ways to pass the time
as do the other members of
my kind.
Sport and movies do the trick
for me, after I quitted myself
of vanity.
Time with my unassuming family
playing games with cards
and dice…
It’s really nothing to write home about,
but still, it is my life at the end of
the day.
While some might dress it up in pretty
words, and filtered frames to
post online…
I have found myself quite content with an
accurate account of who I am while I am
still here.
There is no camera lens or enhancing artifice
that can make me more truly who
I am.
