Undiscovered Souls

A poem

Choking on the cool air

Letting oneself be swept up by life’s momentum

Towards a different reality, perhaps

Better, richer, more promising and creative

Where all of life’s values take on a different meaning

Here, matters take an unexpected turn

What troubles us out there

Here, in the cool shadow

Of the subconscious realm

Spins and shifts like a roulette wheel

Revealing a true, naked face

Though decked out and masked, yet

More fitting for the moment

With a hidden “self” gazing through the glass

Laughing and mocking through the medium

On a screen, a page, or a speaker

These perfectly masked figures collaborate

In harmonious concert

To convey what matters most -

The meaning

Of every life that blossoms there

Some never desire this, losing so much of themselves

Never discovering their own soul or its worth

It is easier to judge than to simply do the work
