Underneath Ground

Deep down it the crust of our dreams

Underneath Ground

Underneath ground so silent

The world forgets your name

No sunlight reaches downward

Everything feels the same

Roots crawl across the darkness

Cold soil wraps around

Time loses all its meaning

Underneath ground

Voices from far above me

Fade into distant air

Nobody stops to wonder

If someone’s buried there

The worms keep moving slowly

Through places hearts once beat

Dust returning to dust now

Beneath forgotten streets

Some graves hold broken secrets

Some hold unfinished lives

Stories left abandoned

Where loneliness survives

Rain falls upon the headstones

Winter paints them white

Still nobody can hear us

Calling through the night

Maybe peace lives down here

Far from the noise above

Far from betrayal and sorrow

Far from unreturned love

Underneath ground I’m resting

Far from the world’s cruel sound

Only silence stays forever

Underneath ground
