How do we go on living?

How do we go on living?

It’s more than the powers above,

The ones who play judge.

If it’s not what we are,

Then it’s what we must accept?

What’s loved having the virtue of a rose in season;

As the winds chill the petals wilt.

The sun once shining giving warmth;

Now turns its Gaze towards wooden jagged hands reaching towards its rays

Praise for its bright light

Melted ice it’s offering to the sky.

The water seeps into the earth's brown soul reaching the remains of a naive hope that was;

Cursed with the illusion forever.

It sprouts again with a methodical vengeance.

I look to the light with the same scorn, to be loved.

Knowing its head will find the perfect hour to turn from me.

In the cold of dark, buried in abandonment.

I plan for our inevitable reunion.

The sight of me will be a tattoo into its memory.

This time redder.

This time with sharper blades from my stem.

This time with more depth.

This time with an army of my likeness surrounding me.

This time immortal.

This time undenied.
