Unconditional, With Boundaries

Loose Lips, Flying Monkeys, and Me

me & Sweetie

Once upon a time I held him on my lap.

Once upon a time life was grand.

Once upon a time was tit for tat

 narcissistic exes

and plans slammed into divorce.

Two different people

by chance thought they had a romance,

but time moved on from 1983.

So, it was to be

leave a narcissistic ex.

What do you expect

but meandering gossip,

loose lips sink ships.

He is grown now.

 I have grands.

But that once upon a time turned into slime

court hearings, divorce, lies, flying monkeys.

Love to me is unconditional,

Despite this, I cannot stand to be near his dad.

Could be considered sad,

but it is what it is.

I am old now.

Somehow, I made it through the lies, the gaslighting.

But I’m still the “Jezebel mom”

 independent, creative, empath.

Disrespected,

and I have accepted the unaccepted.

 I didn’t lie.

But in today’s society lies are precious.

Not to me.

Truth be told, so bold, I am okay.

Cry.

Let it all out.

I am an old lady that still loves unconditionally

with boundaries.

1983 I was a good mom and a still am a good person
