A Loss

last one today friends,

life can change in a heartbeat,

or, the lack of one,

losing a loved one brings uncommon change to the ongoing tomorrows,

suddenly, you are alone,

all you had and loved is gone,

why?

how?

where to go now?

tomorrow’s are empty!

plans are without togetherness!

life goes on,

or does it?

glued in the aftermath of grief, we cling to memories,

memories keep us in touch,

reconciled,

soothing the pain of a broken heart!

we continue for the sake of continuing,

what remains seeks what has gone, knowing it will never be again.

we stagger under that realization hoping to find peace in time,

we know our pain,

we conquer with it!!
