Guide your breath like a song and go back to sleep,
The nightmares hurt but they won't keep you weak,
Your tired mind, an unfinished map,
The same pencil drawn road that leads straight to his trap,
Is this illness really worth the fight?
Sleep away the sun, wake into the night,
You're always so tired with skin colored grey,
Please understand, you can't go on this way,
Toss and turn into different dreams,
You kick and fight but can't silence the screams,
Put up your shield but don't fire your gun,
Little does he know, you've already won,
You took his power because he played with yours first,
He waits in the dark with a hunter's thirst,
It's time to let go, it's time to erase the shame,
You can't live your life accepting this pain,
No care for "beauty," an overused word,
For two years straight his voice was all you heard,
Always trapped in a box with no holes for breathing,
His abusive tongue, a sword unsheathing,
You trusted fabric to curtain your fear,
He ripped it away with force too severe,
His poison-like glare, a deadly dart through your chest,
He never cracked your code though he did try his best,
Narrow white walls with a cream colored floor,
The rusted black shelving you won't see anymore,
Let him be cuffed and fed Karma's brew,
Sealed with a kiss, he's done hurting you.
