Two Shades

explores the depth of my eternal conflicts as two different people, two shades of me, you may say.

By Luke PowellPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
The Light grey happily heading towards treachery, and the dark grey shying from it confidently.

Thou shant recognize my contractions

dousing me in orange and red

I beg thee, disregard them as overreactions

If only thou felt them instead.

Thou blind my eyes through Holy presence

the screaming in my head inseminates paranoia

immediately at first touch the raving lessens

and Thy love, seductive, as a sequoia

Thou hold me tight with grape green eyes

and shine unambiguous smiles upon me

"drop thy sincere act and claim thy prize"

the voices scream silently at thee

Thou hold me under blue skies filtered by dark green

"she doesn't wish to stay wild wretch"

sweet nothings in my eyes like a smoke screen

Thou affirms me through words long awaited and cherished.

Thou are so many millions of colours

I am two shades that art more impassioned

two juxtaposing combinations of lovers

a clash of transposing outcomes, leaving one imprisoned.

One is such a merry prisoner, she loves to scream and cheat

and inevitably cause treachery when she escapes into my eyes

The other so opposite, my solumn taps play a souls beat

I mustn't have let her free again, for when I do it shall be my demise
