Two Centers

verse 1

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

Step in the ring, got the devil on my shoulder,

angel whispering but the money gettin' colder,

left lane traffic, right lane gold,

both of them screaming like they own my soul,

one hand pushing papers, one hand pushing weight,

both of them telling me I'm running out of fate,

ran past the limit, then I pump the brakes,

still hear the echo of the choice I didn't take,

streetlights flicker like they know the deal,

one center hungry, the other want the meal,

I’m the middle man caught between the thrill,

both of them laughing while I chase the bill,

clock tick-tock, heart skip-skip,

one center calm, the other wanna trip,

I flip a coin but it land on its lip,

still stuck in the middle of this back and forth grip
