Daylight
Fades,
Soft into abyss.
Darkness lowers gently
Coating each and every room
With its nocturnal
Splendor.
Twilight
Glistens
Brilliant from above.
Clouds dance in moonlit skies
Dappling fields of mountain valleys
With their beguiling
Light.
Mortals
Shush
Their young to sleep.
Kissing each snowy brow,
Smoothing off each tiny worry
With warm compassion
Deep.
Mankind
Rests
Through the dark.
Huddling close together,
They hold to their lovers
With warm embraces
Tight.
Blanket
Folds
Over daylight.
Putting the world to slumber,
It covers up the scars of day,
With softened hues of
Blue.
