So much would change

If I crossed the space between you and I

To bring our worlds together

If I allowed myself to give in

To collapse under the pressure

Of feeling

Reaching

Instantly knowing

That my life would never be the same

So much would change

From what I know

And what I am

And what I will be

In this very moment

Before we meet

Speak

Touch

Fall

So, I turn

I run

I flee from everything that fills that space

From everything promised

In the look of your eye

From that life that would be

Too big, too strong, too much

Too painful to lose

I leave you behind

Because so much would change
