A day for love

Getting love to last, year after year, is an art many fail to master. For some it is the regular exchanging of gift, for others exploring the world together is key. However, whatever you do to keep the spark of passion alive, make sure you do it regularly enough so that the flame is never extinguished.

Tuesday

The bedsprings they recoil,

The bedsprings they recall,

The passion of a Tuesday,

And every other Tuesday before.

The bedclothes they lay scattered,

The bedclothes lay thrown on the floor,

As the couple embrace with passion,

Like every Tuesday gone before.

The nurses walk past tutting,

The nurses cough loudly and more,

But the couple ignore them and giggle,

Carrying on like the Tuesday’s of yore.

No age should be a barrier,

Or care home should make it a chore,

To continue with a passion that bloomed and grew,

All those loving decades before.
