Truth
Series: Fragments of my mind

Truth
Lying is bad!
Or so They say
They’ll hate you;
They’ll despise you;
Cry wolf and They’ll turn a blind ear.
***
Lying is bad,
Tell them the truth!
Be honest and They’ll love you.
Or so They say
***
Lying is bad
But lies don’t hurt
So put on a filter and utter those words
***
Lying is bad?
But what if the truth hurts?
What would you do when you could kill with those words?
***
Lying is bad.
And the truth will hurt.
Be brutally honest, that scars them the worst.
***
The truth always hurts.
But I don’t care.
Although they will hate me;
I’ll be an honest man.

Beautifully done, love the format (also a belated congrats on the top story) thanks for sharing!
This line: 'They’ll turn a blind ear.' Brilliant! The sentiment behind this is lovely and beautifully articulated -And very belated congrats on TS!
I liked it! It seems like an evolution away from being a people pleaser. It is a willingness to be critical if necessary.
"The truth always hurts" but it is a shorter way to live a happy life. Love your poem!
I enjoyed the read.
Fabulous!!! Loved it!!!❤️❤️💕
I'm a brutally honest person and for that I loved your poem so much!
