Daylight sneaks up on you
Inconsolable as the light peeks through
Searing your tears of mist and dew
Toward clarity and life anew
Ridding the pool of sadness prolonged
A hazy vapor until the dawn
Cracked upon the waters and whispered a song
To tell the story of a duckling spawn
Immersed in feeling ugly and flawed
Ontologically trapped in tormentative ponds
Not a truth—for all along, she was a beautiful swan.
