True colours challenge

Submission

By Kayla BownessPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Colour is in the courage to be unique,

To use the hues of the world and express the imprint we seek,

Colour is the kaleidoscope in our eyes, The vivid identities we cannot hide.

Colour is in the stained glass walls of our hearts, It is the courage we show to be ourselves and set ourselves apart.

Our experiences become mediums to flow with the brush marks of our memories.

Moments we cherish and hold onto, And the moments we happily let go.

Our colours make, shape and can saturate, But won’t take or break our ability to create.

Sometimes we’re thriving in the pools of colour,

Sometimes we’re dying in the depths of darkness.

It is tinted in our eyes, in our sighs and in our cries.

And sometimes, It is written in our smiles that stretch for miles.
