Trouble Remains

verse 3

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

I could buy a new crib, I could change my zip

But the pain in my chest still come with the drip

I could smile for them, I could flex for Instagram

But the reaper still knock when he know who I am

Tried to pray it away, tried to wash it with faith

But the devil still charging what the block already paid

Every win got a tax, every loss got a fee

And the trouble stay lurking like it’s chasing me

I don’t sleep, I just rest with one eye on the door

Because the past don’t forget, and the future want more

I could run to the hills, I could vanish in the mist

But the trouble in my soul still clenching my fist

So I light up the night with the fire in my chest

And I spit for the ones who ain’t making it yet

Trouble remains, but the hustle remain too

I just pray when it’s over that the real me come through
