In the physical world, you can stand

sentinel

protect your private property,

guarding against intruders.

Not so on the web,

purloined letters in the

possession of the possessed

vindicators framing

a distortion of truth

in a claws-out barn burning,

forgetting that they’re the

violators, vehicles of vicarious virtue

vehemently voicing variations

of vissicitudes verifying victimhood,

void of context,

backseated backstory traveling backwards

nigh on forty years omitted,

twisting truth

into a comfortable narrative

supporting self-righteousness

in the barren field of dreams,

blaming me for the

failure of their fantasies

as they choke on the smoke

of this malicious attempt

to burn down my world.
