Tree of life

The God in Motherhood

By Sabrina Spellman- Kallie Coleridge VenturiniPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

Sunday reflections .

Motherhood is one of the most rewarding tiresome experience that’s hard to explain to another person who isn’t a mother.

As a mother I’m trying hard to focus on myself and my family.

I think of myself as a tree. My children and husband as my roots. How can a family or tree function if the trunk is so focus on being mobile? when in reality the roots just need it to stay home, so growth can happen for the family.

I pray to God that I don’t get so tired of keeping my home fires burning that I forget my roots need me the most. Even when I'm exhausted and I need a drink of water, my roots come first.

That’s what mothers do. As trees of life we give. So on this Sunday I thank God for my roots and even on days I’m exhausted from life and motherhood may I always remember the real function of a tree, of a mother is at home with her roots. Mothers don’t have to find them self. They just need a little shade from their branches sometimes, sips of water from the leaves after a storm. Gratefulness that makes a mother tree the healthiest. Trees lose roots when they decide to get up and leave the earth they found a home in. May I never leave one of my roots behind. May my family tree stay prune to perfection. May I always remember, it’s my roots that need me, not the world. Xoxo Kallie Baby
