Walk in, with purpose
Squint screwed on tight
Ready to spot flaws in the
Garish flickering light
The must of ages seeped into fibers
Stiffening linings, ripped seams
Moth-eaten wool and crumbling rubber
It’s a hunt through the thrift store
For hidden treasure
Maybe you see it
from three racks over
or had to dig
through a bin of sharp rubble
No matter the price
What has to be put back
Leave satisfied having found
That which you didn’t know you lacked
