Where did you go, when did you leave me?

You betrayed me, without a second thought.

Spending yourself ruthlessly and breaking free,

As you pass, melting my existence degree by degree.

All my pleas and attempts were for naught.

Where do you go, when did you leave me?

How long you’ll stick around I cannot foresee.

You’re in a hurry to be elsewhere a lot,

spending yourself ruthlessly and breaking free.

Always moving on endlessly for something else to see,

Try as I might, your attention cannot be bought.

Where do you go, when did you leave me?

Won’t you stay for a moment, just for me,

be more still, more forgiving than perhaps you ought?

As my days wane, and I lose you as though by decree.

Yet that you will leave is certain and your only guarantee.

But, slow please – as I fulfill the purpose for which I was brought.

Where do you go, when did you leave me,

Spending yourself ruthlessly and breaking free?
