Trauma Bond

A Poem about the Confusion of Trauma Bonds

By Rebekah ShutterPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

He was a walking contradiction with a head full of double standards.

He spoke a language of incongruence formed from thoughts of insecurity.

His eyes flashed with a dichotomy between passion and disdain.

His words were charming and viscous, his touch tender and cold.

His ignored his obvious projections and gave sharp attention to the flaws of others.

He gave and withheld love all in one breath.

He left me burning with desire and frozen with fear.

He freed me and trapped me with every passing glance.

He was an enigma, a conundrum, a mystery, but I've always been fond of puzzles.
