Trash

A bitter poem about giving too much.

I ripped out my teeth so you could make a necklace

But you tossed them out the window, saying I was reckless.

.

I plucked every hair from my head, ignoring blood, to keep you warm

But you looked to the sky and whipped them into the storm.

.

I was hesitant to bleed for you but you asked so I opened the tap

Just to realize you hated the flavor, it was just a trap.

.

A way to make me leak onto the floor and slowly vanish from memory.

Just a final way to throw me out with the old books of the last century.
