Passing ships on the sea of life,

Pondering the path we all must strife.

Pain and pleasure, joy and sorrow,

People come and go, leaving us to borrow.

Pondering the past, lost in thought,

Perhaps a small moment can be wrought.

Perched on the pier, watching the boats,

Praying for a sign, trying to stay afloat.

Suddenly, a ship sailed by,

Sending waves that caught my eye.

Sitting there, I realized anew,

Simple moments can change your view.

Seeing the ships sail away,

Silently disappearing into the bay.

Sometimes we must let go and release,

So new opportunities can increase.

Passing ships, a metaphor for life,

Perpetual motion, through joy and strife.

Precious moments, fleeting and fast,

Pursue them with passion, make them last.
