Do you dream

With your ear

Pressed to the

Icy metal tracks?

Or is it your throat

That you lay against

The frozen line of metal

Stretching into the wintery

Land covered in ice and snow?

.

Do you wait for moaning horn

Crying its laments through the

Conifers gazing skyward through

Endless feet of crushing, wet snow?

No, there is no pre-emptive mourning.

Not for you, for the creature that's pulse

Quickens with the galloping approach of

Death and her chariot of bloodthirsty horses,

Stallions dragging misfortune down the roads

Until every fool is on their knees begging for the

Tracks that you have so expertly claimed for yourself.
