Toxicity

A Poem

By Emily SapioPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Toxicity within me but all I see is this.

He's calling my name but I'm despondent.

The love he has for me fading into a remnant

From my past I remember my hand in his but now my hand is clenching emptiness

Why did I resist

Toxicity within me but all I see is this

They're yelling but I choose not to hear

Deep in my thoughts the ones I can't share

They push me in directions, that I unwilling went

They force their ideals on me

I had my views

they didn't care existed

Toxicity within me but all I see is this

In circles I find myself turning

Trying to find my place in this cycle

for something more is what I'm yearning

Days pass and I'm growing more tired

Feeling my time on this earth becoming expired

Toxicity within me but all I see is this

sad poetry
