You lie to your family

You lie to your friends

My friend, once the lying begins,

It never ends.

*

The worst thing of all

Is that you lie to yourself.

Why is it you think

That the truth needs a back shelf?

*

You lie to your family

You lie to your friends

My friend, once the lying begins,

It never ends.

*

You don’t even know

What honesty is anymore.

So stop and access

What the truth is, I implore.

*

Your lies hurt your family

Your lies hurt your friends.

Mostly, lying hurts you,

Let the truth make amends.

Let the truth make amends.
