Tomorrow Is Too Full Of Yesterdays

Tomorrow is too full of yesterdays
It blocks the path that helps you get by
Tomorrow is too full of yesterdays
Too full of you and I

We really need to start making decisions
Are we forever, or are we just a dream?
Because forever lives on reality
And a dream isn’t all that it seems

I think we’ve got all that we need
To make it in this life
But I’m not sure because I’ve waited too long
I want to become your wife

Maybe that was my yesterday
My future is not my path
It’s like putting my yesterday memories
And making them my life at last

Then you need to be born
To be slapped on the back
To take that first breath
And never turn back

The old should now be buried
Forever, that’s the past that’s dead
So exactly where are we going
I think it’s up to you to decide instead

Because I can’t count the days I’ve waited
For you to ask me to be your wife
I’ve cried and cried
Waiting for you to want me forever in your life

You don’t seem to have that fine push
That says you want me forever by your side
And I know of all the dark nights I’d wished you had
And cried and cried

But it meant saying goodbye to you
Washing my hands of you as I shut the door
And I don’t know can I go forward
Knowing I’ll see you nevermore

At least now I know what limbo feels like
It’s not something to be proud
To turn round and turn my back on my tomorrow
And watch it vanish, vanish in the crowd

If I did that, would you fight for me?
Would you turn around and bang on my door
Demanding that I wore your ring
And became your wife forevermore?

That’s what fears me deep inside
It makes my stomach turn
And it breaks my heart to think about
Your answer and what I’ve learned
