Tomorrow Already Gone

You Weren't Built in a Day

By Bryan BuffkinPublished 9 days ago • 1 min read

Wake.

Shower. Dress.

Eat. Drive. Clock in.

Read. Send. Print. File.

Read. Send. Print. File.

Read. Send. Print. File.

Read. Send. Print. File.

Lunch.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Call. Message. Meet. Type.

Clock out. Eat.

Sleep.

This is not what I imagined.

Not what I wanted.

Not that I imagined anything.

Never made plans.

Never thought I had to.

Always thought I had

Tomorrow.

I know now that a building

Takes plans.

So too does a life.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Why did I think my

Future

Could be?

Living for today means that

Tomorrow is already gone.

I waited.

I waited.

I waited.

Too long.

Now all I have is today.

Again.

Again.

Again.

And again.

Now all I can do is

Wake.

Shower. Dress.

Eat. Drive. Clock In.
