To the Younger Self

A short self-soothing poem of reassurance to read when struggling with acceptance and fear.

To the younger self,

You're empty, confused, lost and scared.

But the world is yours for the taking.

For behind emptiness is wisdom, beneath confusion is clarity, within lost space is room to improve and surrounding fear is hope.

You have the power to change moods, the strength to make it through worse and the optimism to turn all dark corners to light.

To the younger self,

Keep your mouth closed but your eyes open.

Because the world is yours for the taking.
