To the Woman I’m Becoming
Or to the want I want to become?
Hey you,
I've sat down so many times to pen this letter.
Time and time again.
Only to realise...
That I don't know who I'm becoming
I don't know who I want to become.
Geez, should I ChatGPT the answer to this?
Because I sure as h3|| cannot think anymore...
I ask myself what hopes do I have...
For the future...
To heal...
To love...
To balance...
But, nada.
They say 'honour your emotions'
But how do I do that when I don't have the time to sit and even absorb my own emotions?
The only one that gets out, runs away scot free, is my anger.
And then that's all people think of me.
That's all I think of myself.
HULK, SMASH!
They say think of 'renewed relationships' for coming days.
But how can I when I cannot overlook past and current ones?
When my entire time is stretched within all these things and more...
Okay, breathe.
Maybe there is something...
Some light, end of the tunnel and all that.
Maybe I'm becoming a woman who finally
Just goes with the flow.
But the flow of others.
Maybe I'm becoming a woman
Who makes time for herself
Time to stress eat to manage the emotions
(And maybe walk it off a few thousand steps later, yay!).
Maybe I'm becoming a woman
Who will never stop trying to
Fill little pockets of time with what she loves to do
For she has embraced that she is not for herself
But for others...
Yet, will continue to remind herself of ... well, herself
Even if others forget
So she doesn't feel ashamed of herself
When she looks in the mirror.
Maybe I'm becoming the woman
Who's just "okay" all the time.
