To the surreal strength we hold

This is an ode to you, to me and to everyone who keeps going

This is an ode to the might that we hold in our hearts to mellow through the banter of our strife. We are extraordinary species that surpass the wit and intelligence of any existing creature in the biotic ecosystem. Our minds are constantly evolving in every minuscular way to foretell the vision of tomorrow. Life is a monotonous series of exemplary events that forge their being in the mundanity of a day. Stirring with the hustle-bustle of every day becomes burdening when life shows how uncertain our mortality is and how placated we are in the hands of the unknown.

This is an ode to you, to me and to everyone who keeps going. Often valour and strength are expressed as gigantic moments of courage or dramatic actions that saved lives. Strength often perceived through the pragmatic lens of perception fails to appreciate the bravery in showing extraordinary persistence in bearing the ordinary moments. There lies courage in following your dreams, in being disciplined, in being kind, and in being consistent. Life gifts the bravest soldiers with the present of survival. We are all concealed in happy faces healing from the wounds that were inflicted on us which we did not deserve in the first place. If that is not strength then I don’t know what strength is.

It takes a strong person to face the lemons life throws at them and churns them into fuel for growth. We have no right to judge someone’s tale of strength by glancing at their happy face. They might be swimming through the ocean currents of survival underneath the calmness of the serene smile. Today if all you did was try to survive your day,

Let this remind you.

The wars you fight, the pain that in your heart dwells,

Someday would be someone’s survival guide,

Today they are stories we never tell.
