TO SPACE

As I stand, I look to the great expanse above,

To admire the wily sapphire of an unruly sky.

Undeterred by the sheer beauty thereof,

One daring, intrepid rocket dares to fly.

It rises, gravity grasping madly in its way,

Liberated from the age-old confines of earth.

Weary of the bonds of archaic worlds, a ray

of pure unfettered hope, escaping its berth,

exchanging tragedy for endless possibility.

Believe. A new world’s hope is nigh.

A chance to trust peace and reject hostility,

Creating a land without war, above our sky.
