A poem about contentment

To Live The Dream Is...
To have worked hard all day.
To have finished writing a long paper due tomorrow.
To have eaten a satisfying dinner of grilled steak, baked potatoes, and sauteed asparagus.
To read about a sad and lonely wizard and his walking castle.
To watch my fluffy cat nap in the sill of the open living room window.
To listen to my brother and sister play Annie Annie Over across the garage with a broken wiffle ball and old tennis rackets.
To hear the birds singing their evening showtunes to each other.
To stop and breathe and acknowledge for the moment that this is what it feels like to be content.
