Look at the world around you

Constantly changing

Even something seemingly still

is shifting

Trees tell me to look at their rings,

Flowers tell me to look at their petals

Lichens, quietly persistent,

Remind me to notice their progress

Objects will age too

The house you grew up in

The stories told here

The tales may have not changed

But you,

You have.

Leaving this house

was one step to the vision for you

Now you ask questions

you never dared before.

Testing the waters

Good or bad the answer does not phase you.

It is no life to try and be stationary

We are aging anyway

Trust me when I tell you:

You are changing

With each dawn you are becoming someone new

Notice how you greet the world now

Wingspan wide or branches stretched out

Or consider what questions idle in your brain
