TITLE unresolved

130pm 10/19/2026

I was listening to the Simon and Garfunkel song-The Boxer

and this came to mind.

*******

America..

I have loved you nigh on 65 years

As a child you took me in

An orphan taken from a home I loved

To a street unknown.

*******

I am a young man

imprisoned in the soul and mind

of an old man that refuses to comply.

I sing, I dance..

and caterwaul in a banshee cry of an alley cat yelling for his love in the dark!

I wish for release..

but I fear the result

though I know it is an unresolved..

wish for a soul not eternal.

But I see my past and reach for my youth..

then my children call..

and I must make room for the present...

and the future.

I must go..I must go..

But I hold on to my heart's desire

even to my last breath.

I have tasted of the warmth of life

and I am satisfied..

I must!
