Hello Lovely Reader!

Thank you so much for reading! This is my entry to the latest Vocal Haiku challenge! In keeping with the theme, I wanted to pay homage to the Titans!

As any Greek myth enthusiast knows, there were Titans before the Olympians. However, there was no Titan or Olympian of the Earth. Why? None can replace the Primordial Gaia. She is the only Deity not to be dethroned by her children.

Some might argue that Cronus and Demeter are the one's who took her place. I disagree with this. These Olympians are the rulers of farming, not the Earth. :)

Lelantus was the one who really inspired me! His name means something like "the one who can't be seen." His daughter was Aura, the cool breeze! He is not well known, but I really love him!

And, of course, there's Prometheus! If you really want to know more about him, I recommend reading the ancient Greek play, "Prometheus Bound." You can find one of the best translations here: https://sacred-texts.com/cla/aesch/promet.htm

Finally, the much-forgotten Oceanus! He is the Titan for whom we've gotten the name "Ocean." To the Greeks, this was actually a massive river encompassing the Earth. I always loved this notion of a never-ending spring guiding humanity's destiny, like a river.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for reading :) :)

Lots of love!
