I feel my eyelids, each one the weight of a golf ball. I’m standing up, trying to work… at my eyes are fighting me more than my brain.
Scratch that, they’re both fighting me. When my eyes close, my head will drop. When my head drops, then the rest of me will go.
I got more sleep last night. An amount I thought was sufficient. Why am I here again? The same place as yesterday… the same spot, same feeling.
Feeling of tiredness. It comes and goes, but why won’t it leave me alone?
I’m starting to think - when it comes to sleep - sufficient isn’t enough.
About the Creator
Gabriel B. Shames
I’m an east coast American, interested in writing poetry and fiction as long as I can remember. I took a test in 4th grade where they told me I wrote creatively at a college level!
Hope you enjoy reading as much I as I do creating ❣️
