When nothing feels good –

not even a kiss?

When sounds are annoying,

when food tastes bland,

when nobody else

would understand?

When everything about

your world feels wrong?

When a lifetime feels like

far too long?

Who do you talk to

in times like these?

Me – I go

and sit by the trees.

Feel their dense structure

and wise, loving soul

that flows through my heart

to make it more whole.

They show me how lovely

it is to exist.

That the times we can’t see that

are the times

we resist.
