a timeless ache:
your name dead on my tongue,
forever.
and i still crave:
the way your promises
glittered against my darkest night,
and the way i felt when i loved you,
and i believed you loved me too.
but daylight broke.
a light i'd been praying for,
but we were born for darkness,
weren't we?
you were only there to hold me
in my shadow
(was i saved?)
(was i shackled?)
(was i shattered?)
solar revelations
and revolutions.
rose vision giving way to clarity:
you and i are better off
a memory.
