Time Is An Irresponsible Friend
Reflecting on the passage of time
Time is an irresponsible friend
Who leads you down its path
And promises a hundred things
But brings you less than half
Time is an irresponsible friend
Who tells you what to do
And poses as infinity
But acts as a catch-22
Time is an irresponsible friend
Who forces you to run
In only one direction
Away from everyone
Yet, if hope is the thing with feathers
Then time creates the wings
Giving you the gift of flight
And everything it brings
Time is an irresponsible friend
Who teaches you to soar
And leads you down the runway
Before you know what it’s for
