Happy Birthday Tim Carmichael. It cometh...With a July 8 Birthday Poetry challenge.

Man.

He walks alone, lost in thought... a silhouette in the mist’s soft embrace. His carries a quiet refinement - deep forest-green tailored coat, boots polished, yet weathered by journey, and a scarf that catches the stray beams of light like a ghost of an era gone before. Though he is composed, the wind disarranges his coattails the same way it ruffles the feathers of the avian dwellers who watch...curious.

Bird.

The lone macaws sits perched on a gnarled and weathered tree branch, eyes gleaming...alert, filled with old wisdom. The branch bends slightly - old, gnarled - lichen and fern heralding the earthy scent of rain.

The forest breathes in green...the bird perched between worlds...awaiting admiration.

There is a quiet reverence in the sunlight piercing the canopy...a private moment the jungle decided to share...blue meets green and light meets shadows.

......Light.

Light filters through the dense canopy in long, slanted beams, softly inviting.

Mountain

In the distance, the rugged mountain peaks tower dramatically...its slopes cloaked in dense forests. From afar, it appears majestic and immovable, its silhouette cutting sharply against the sky. But up close, the air grows cooler and thinner, with a slight scent of pine and stone, the wind whispering through its rocky ridges.

One feels its strength - a reminder of nature’s timeless beauty - where the earth seems to touch the heavens.

........

The macaw is lost in its song.

A delicate watercolor moment...a blend of dream, atmosphere and fantasy.

......

The man walks toward the bird in a dream of golden haze...

His coat catches the filtered light...his steps softened by the moss. The macaw waits, watching the man’s figure between shadow and light, merging with the drifting fog.

His sees the bird...a quiet communion as wonder takes the shape of wings.

The macaw is a riot of turquoise and cobalt fire, each plume ablaze...the forest breathing in color.

Everywhere...macaws dot the forest in various shades of azure, teal and royal blue.

Man and Bird.

Bird: "You stare blankly at glorious flowers blooming in riotous beauty... not seeing the petals where nature flaunts wonderous dahlias and bluebells. How dark the world when a once happy heart waxes dim and melancholy amidst the uproarious grandeur of this ungovernable and disorderly beauty. Come...See the sun twinkling, as colors beckon you to life".

The man gazes up at the macaw, wondering at its brilliance - blues that dance - feather alive with iridescence. The bird's gaze steady, curious, almost regal.

Man: "How can it be that I can hear you speak, macaw. It's as if you have read my thoughts. For I have been ruminating and contemplating upon the many years that have passed... and the many years still to arrive".

Bird: "Ah! Humans and Birds alike fail to appreciate the gift of life for what it is. Birds wish to walk the earth, tall, elegant and free, with a roof over their heads and a place to always call home. Humans wish for wings that they could fly...not seeing the delicate nature of our wings...Birds cannot fly on one wing...so we become a meal for the predators. Humans must beware the dwellers of the jungle...lest they too be eaten by mighty beasts".

Man and bird both became lost in thought.

Man: "How wise you seem, macaw. For you have given me much to contemplate upon. Instead of lamenting what has gone and fearing what is to come...I should live in the now moments of my life".

Bird: "Insightful and sage advice for us both, my human friend. Go, enjoy the now... celebrate your life's journey. Live each moment for what it truly is...existing in between the corridors of your now".

Around them, the forest glows brighter, golden light cascading through the canopy. Mist curls around the man's feet, the air a quiet awe. Elegance meeting wild wonder - man and bird sharing existence.

Between them, there is a quiet reverence - a meeting of wisdom and wildness, where thought dissolves into wonder and the wind pauses to watch.
