Beneath the whispering oaks that sway,
Lives a man named Thomas, worn yet wise,
With laughter like sunlight in his eyes.
Each morning he'd wander to the old pier,
Where memories danced with the salt-kissed air;
He’d toss breadcrumbs to gulls that soared high,
While dreaming of places beyond the sky.
But life had stitched burdens into his heart,
A love lost too soon—a cruel depart.
Elena's laughter still echoed at dawn,
Yet her light flickered out before it shone.
“Time,” he would murmur to waves lapping near,
“Is an ocean vast—sometimes cruelly clear.”
He'd gaze at horizons where water meets fate,
And feel in his chest an ache he called weight.
One evening as sun dipped below the sea,
A soft voice beside him stirred memory:
“Do you think I’ve left?” It was Elena’s tone—
A spectral whisper felt deep in his bone.
“I carry your dreams like stars in my hands,”
She spoke of a realm where time understands;
“No end shall come where true love once bloomed—”
As night wrapped around them like silk that consumed.
With each gentle wave that caressed the shore,
Thomas found strength he thought lost evermore.
Though grief may eclipse and shadows may fall,
It won’t end yet; there’s magic in all.
So he stood by the pier with hope rekindled—
In tides of tomorrow where hearts are not dwindled;
The love that was given cannot be erased—
It lives on in whispers—a sweet interlaced.
