Thump Thump Thumping

Through the Night

By Karen LaRuePublished about a year ago 1 min read

I can’t sleep

My brain is thump thump thumping

Deep into the night

How can I sleep while my brain is thump thump thumping

It just doesn’t seem right

It just runs sometimes

Like a heard of wild horses

Trampling through the fields

Out of control

But such a beautiful sight

Majesty to watch such freedom

Stampede through the night

I can’t sleep

My brain is thump thump thumping

Deep into the night

How can I sleep while my brain is thump thump thumping

It just doesn’t seem right

There it goes off again

Chasing with a silly grin

A land full of rainbows and magic

Can’t the muses leave me alone

Or come back this afternoon

This no sleep reeks havoc

So I’ll swim through this wonderland

And then hope the understand

That it’s just how art works

I can’t sleep

My brain is thump thump thumping

Deep into the night

How can I sleep while my brain is thump thump thumping

It just doesn’t seem right

I twirl up into the sky

Leaving this world goodbye

Am I now dreaming

Goodness no it’s all aglow

Color deep as indigo

Why can’t I stop painting

Must be creating

I can’t sleep

My brain is thump thump thumping

Deep into the night

How can I sleep while my brain is thump thump thumping

It just doesn’t seem right
