CO Trail Thru Hiking Inspired Haiku

Miles pass beneath me

Dirt, sand, stone, dust, mud, sludge, duff

Feet press into earth

EARTH

Streams run through mountains

I collect, filter, cherish

Water from the source

WATER

Walking through scarred land

Tree skeletons cast no shade

Fire has changed this place

FIRE

Nearing the top now

Wind blows sideways against me

I lean into it

WIND
