Through The Darkness

My Nightly Quest

By Dan R FowlerPublished 6 months ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read

Through The Darkness

Once more, I feel night’s fingers tugging,

Pulling me from this world’s memories flooding.

I can’t help but answer its beckoning call,

Whether I run or dance or even fall.

It’s the whispers that mean so much to me,

Luring me from this world asking me to come, look, and see.

It’s the love ‘ore the years that has bound all of us,

That keeps my spirit yearning and my soul looking up.

Some say it’s just our imaginations that enslaves us,

That keeps our hearts beating, hoping it’s miracles to discuss.

But seek as I must those echoes from the past,

For to surrender to failure is to become downcast.

In the shadows that engulf me, shrouding my soul’s desire,

That at least for a moment, a second, seeing you it inspires.

Your mercy is unending filled with compassion and love,

And no matter this road that I travel I’ll continue to look above.
