Through Father's Eyes

An abecedarian poem

A boy that laughed through his early years,

Beneath skies clear, unshadowed by fears,

Came whispers of doubt, soft and slight,

Daring him to dream, late into the night.

Every step, a leap into the unknown,

Facing shadows, in twilight sown.

Ghosts of failure, lurking near,

Haunting his heart, breeding fear.

Inadequacy, a silent thief,

Jeopardizing joy, sowing grief.

Kindred spirits, though, would not let him fall,

Lifting him up, standing tall.

Maturity found on paths less trod,

Nurtured by struggle, blessed by God.

Overcoming, with each new dawn,

Pursuing dreams, fear now withdrawn.

Questions of worth, finally laid to rest,

Rejection's pain no longer a test.

Strength found in the face of despair,

Triumphs small, yet profoundly fair.

Understanding the value of self,

Victory not stored upon a shelf.

Wisdom gained, a life's rich reward,

Xanadu found, in love's accord.

Years pass, a father looks down,

Zealous for his son's future crown.
