An ache, a choke

A pain in the fingertips

The delicacy of personality

Knowing the harshness of what will come.

Others, their tone

Bland in the face of kindness

Even the loudest voices

Questioning what shouldn't be -

The cruelty of apathy

The tragedy of time;

There's only one thing that they don't see

Simply because of themselves.

The diamonds, brimming with brilliancy

Their edges sharpened and protective

A delightful rarity of armour

Bursting despite all knowledge of tragedy.

How brave it is to be different;

How hard it is to be scared

And yet have to keep going, onwards.
